accident simulations and system evaluations
The development of new active safety systems (advanced driver assistance systems, ADAS) will become ever more important to automotive manufacturers and sub-contractors. By means of these systems, collisions can be avoided. In order to be able to analyse and evaluate the use and the functional safety of such systems early on, the simulation of this system in the real event of the road accident is decisive.
PCM stands for Pre-Crash Matrix and is a specified format which can be used to describe the phase of a road traffic accident before the first collision happens (the so-called pre-crash phase).
By means of our PONR model and by simulation, the VUFO identifies the point in time when a collision is unavoidable. In doing so, cases saved in the GIDAS data base are systematically varied
The Time To Collision is defined as the time after which a collision between several road users is happening while they are still maintaining their current driving conditions.
