For more than 15 years, the Road Traffic Accident Investigation at the TU Dresden GmbH (VUFO) has been successful as a supplementary research institution in the field of vehicle and road safety. We want to present our skills in the field of research, development and training.
Our VUFO team collects and analyses the GIDAS road traffic accident investigation project in the Dresden metropolitan area in which approximately 1,000 road traffic accidents per year involve personal injuries. The established collection of road accident data has been consistently completed and improved by means of modern methods of data collecting.
The VUFO data analysts of our institution conduct studies and analyses based on national and international data. Its main focus is on road safety. The results will then be integrated into statutes, directives, developments of vehicle safety or safety measures.
By means of car crash simulations, our VUFO experts carry out detailed studies as to how road traffic accidents are caused. In this regard, critical analyses are made and assessed based on scenarios, the field of operation or the preventative potential of safety precautions.
