VUFO scenarios are derived directly from real-world road crashes and capture exactly how vehicles, their environment and other road users interact before and during an impact. Because every scenario is built on real crash data rather than synthetic assumptions, it gives you a reliable, validated basis for developing, testing and optimising driver assistance systems as well as connected and automated driving functions.
The TASC data set is based on real accident data, which is converted into simulation files (scenarios) using specially developed procedures and scientific methods.
On the one hand, it contains several thousand basic simulation files. These represent real accident data from Saxony, which is based on data from police accident surveys.
In addition, scientifically sound methods and variation approaches based on GIDAS data are used to create further variation simulation files from these basic data sets.

Since 2022, not only accident data has been hosted on the TASC platform, but also data from traffic observations. This data collection approach makes it possible to record tens of thousands of real-life traffic scenarios within a short period of time, with the subsequent criticality assessment allowing a separation into normal, critical and highly critical scenarios.
The dashboard developed in 2021 allows authorized users to pre-select simulation files and perform user-specific accident analyses within the entire TASC dataset. The following figure shows some example diagrams of the dashboard.
Selected statistics are displayed in the dashboard (accident categories, constellations, types, day and time distribution, location of accidents).

We convert real crash sequences into standardised ASAM OpenX formats (OpenSCENARIO / OpenDRIVE) so you can load them straight into your simulation toolchain. The result is a catalogue of more than 2,000 validated scenarios, ready for immediate use and deployable on a project-specific basis to test ADAS and automated driving functions efficiently, comparably and realistically. Their standardised structure makes integration and expansion straightforward and supports automated evaluation across large-scale testing.
The PCM format describes the pre-crash phase of a road crash as a clearly structured scenario, covering the vehicles and people involved, the driving dynamics and the surrounding environment.
Its specification is openly available, which makes PCM a common basis for analyses, databases, simulations and conversion into other scenario formats and a key resource for generating consistent, comparable pre-crash scenarios.
